Room Parents & VOLunteers
Help play an active role at Sparta Elementary by becoming a Room Parent or Room Volunteer in your child's homeroom class. If you're interested in becoming a Room Parent or Room Volunteer this year, please fill out the sign-up sheet above.
ALL ROOM PARENTS AND ROOM VOLUNTEERS MUST COMPLETE THE BISD BACKGROUND APPLICATION.
What is a Room Parent?
A room parent is a volunteer who helps out in their child's homeroom class to support the teacher. Room parents help with classroom events and support any other projects that the teacher might need help with. Room parents and room volunteers get the unique opportunity to play an active role in their child/children's school year! We are all busier than ever these days, which is why it's ideal for each class to have Co-Room Parents to divide responsibilities.
Duties of a Room Parent:
Help execute 3 designated class celebrations (December, March, May)
Recruit volunteers for classroom needs and projects (decorating, cutting, sorting, etc.)
Communicate with classroom teacher to establish any class needs or wants
Provide information and reminders to other class parents and guardians (pre-drafted emails will be sent for you to forward and share)
Member of Spart PTA (preferred, but not required)
Duties of Room Volunteer:
Support classroom teacher and room parent with any classroom needs and projects
